Titanium engagement rings

The strength and resilience of steel with a unique beauty...

A titanium engagement ring makes a bold statement about who you are.

Stylish and resilient, titanium is becoming popular among people who favor something out of the ordinary.

The Qualities of Titanium

Titanium is the hardest natural metal in the world and has a distinct silver-greyish color.

It has three times the strength of steel and is much stronger than gold, silver or platinum, yet its very light-weight. It's immune to corrosion and virtually non-magnetic.

Pure titanium is 100% hypoallergenic which means that it is safe for anyone to wear as it will not react with your skin.

Take a look at the cutting-edge titanium engagement ring below.

History of Titanium

Titanium was first discovered in Cornwall, England in 1791. Shortly afterwards Martin Heinrich Klaproth, a Berlin chemist, found titanium in rutile, and named the element Titanium after the mythological Titans.

Because titanium is always found in combination with other elements, it wasn't until 1910 that it was able to be isolated, with 99.9% purity. Titanium began commercial production in 1946 and because of its amazing strength to weight ratio, it's utilized extensively in the manufacturing industry as well as aerospace, military, medical and dental products and the jewelry industry.

After the Second World War, the Department of Defence provided incentives to kick-start the commercial production of titanium, particularly for use in their jet aircraft.
