With a market of 43 million single women in the United States, Ruta Fox decided women would buy the The Ah Ring for themselves and not wait for Mr Right to give them beautiful diamonds. According to the Jewelry Information Center in New York City, a trade organization, women buying jewelry for themselves is one of the fastest growing segments in the jewelry industry.

In fact, a recent article in the New York Times said that jewelry purchases by single women in early 2004 were up 20% on previous years.

Not only are single women buying the Ah Ring, they're also shopping for "right hand rings" - beautiful rings, usually set with diamonds or precious stones - they can proudly display on their right hand.

Additionally, "singleness" is ranked 3 out of the top 10 trends increasing around the world as more people postpone or forego marriage, according to Futurist magazine.

The Ah Ring was an instant success, generating over $1 million in sales in the first year. It was featured in a full-page editorial in O, The Oprah Magazine (March, 2001) as a personal favorite of Oprah's. Thousands of Ah Rings have been sold through Ah Ring's exclusive 800 number.
