About two years ago we decided to go out sailing on my new boat. It was a perfect summer day and we had a great time sailing around the bay. We had brought a picnic lunch and at around noon we found a lovely secluded beach on one of the islands and I anchored the boat. We carried our picnic supplies ashore and while Beccy was preparing our lunch, I said I had a few things to do to the boat, so unbeknownst to her, I went down to the seashore and with a stick, wrote in the sand "Will you marry me?" After lunch, I asked her if she'd like to come for a walk along the beach with me, so hand-in-hand we walked down to the shore and started walking along the beach. I was so excited that my heart was racing and I was sure Beccy must have felt it, but eventually we strolled along to where I had written my message in the sand. When she saw the message she asked me for the stick I was still holding, and wrote "Yes" in the sand beside my question. We've been married two years now and every time we go out on the boat we talk about my message in the sand.

I had a dentist's appointment before work and was a little bit flushed by the time I got there because I was running late. I sat down at my desk and turned on my computer. My boyfriend Eddie and I had discussed buying me a kitten for my birthday because I badly wanted one, so on the night before my birthday, Eddie turned up with a huge basket and inside was a beautiful Burmese kitten. I gently picked up the kitten and was giving it a hug when I noticed it had a lovely diamante collar around it's neck. I was commenting on the collar when I noticed a piece of red ribbon attached to the collar and on the end of the ribbon was the most beautiful engagement ring I'd ever seen. We reached the Venetian at about 12:00 .. and surprisingly had a room booked, Nick asked me to go freshen up.. I new something was fishy but couldn't tell.. when I came downstairs he took me to the gondola ride area.. everyone there already knew what was going to happen... I sat in the gondola ride and the rider began to row.. he started singing these romantic songs in some language that I didn't understand.. and then suddenly Nick stood up. I thought he was taking a picture but he went down on his knees and asked me to marry him with the most perfect engagement ring.. I said yes and everyone started clapping and screaming.. wow I was actually crying. Our gondola was passing under a fake Rialto bridge..he promised to take me to the real one and he did, he took me for my honeymoon to Venice. We just celebrated our 1 yr wedding anniversary... I love him.

My now fiance's birthday, Mother's Day, and our anniversary are all in May. So I did all of this on Mother's Day.

We started the day off by going to an afternoon showing of Cirque du Soleil. About an hour into the show two dozen red roses were handed to her. We left and went to dinner at a fancy restaurant overlooking the city. I told her after dinner we were going to our favorite hotel. I had the hotel concierge put Hershey Kisses from where we got off the elevator to our bed. The bed had a robe laying on top of two dozen rose petals. I told her to get undressed and put the robe on, so we could take a shower. All over the bath and shower head were rose petals. After she got out of the shower I said " Happy birthday, Mother's Day and happy anniversary. Christine, you mean the world to me, I have kissed the ground you walked on, and showered you with roses. I want to spend the rest of my life with you will you marry me?" She was already crying by the time I finished and said yes, yes, yes.
