Honeymoon Tips
Once you've planned your destination and booked your honeymoon, here are our travel tips:
- Do your research about the place or places you're visiting. Find out about the best places to visit, the local currency and the exchange rate, the local language and any local customs. Learning a few phrases like "please" and "thank you" in the language of the country you're visiting usually makes you feel very welcomed by the locals.
- When booking tours, make sure they cater for your special interests. For example, if you have no interest in historic art, there's no point in doing a sightseeing tour of the art museums in Paris.
- Everybody loves a lover, so make sure you tell everyone that you're honeymooning -- your travel agent, hotel front desk staff, airlines, tour group leaders. You'll be surprised at the special treatment and "extras" you may receive!
- Before you leave, make two copies of your passport, travel documents, travel insurance policy, credit cards and travellers checks. Leave one copy safe at home and keep another copy in your luggage or in the hotel safe, then if your important documents are lost or stolen, you'll have back-up copies.
- Travelling, especially abroad, can be a frustrating and time-consuming affair at times. Try not to stress about any small problems that may arise...keep a cool head and SMILE!
- Make sure you leave a copy of your itinerary with someone at home you know and trust. That way they can follow your experience and alert authorities if something happens to you. It's a good idea to bring your cellular phone with you so you can stay in touch with loved ones back home.

- It's your honeymoon, so don't forget to pack the extra-special items for your romantic evenings far from home. Your favorite CDs, scented candles, massage oil and lingerie don't take up a lot of room in your suitcase and add to the pleasure of your honeymoon experience.
- Try to get lots of rest before the wedding, so you're relaxed on your honeymoon. There's nothing worse than spending most of your holiday in your hotel room because you're too tired to sightsee.
- Take time out every day for a little rest and relaxation so you don't wear yourself out before the trip is over. Practice deep-breathing exercises, meditate or do some yoga.
- And the best honeymoon tip? HAVE FUN!
